The Dantherm Aerial AERCUBE Turbine VP 6 is a noise box with a brushless high-performance turbine for drying screed insulation layers and cavities after water damage. It works as a vacuum pump with up to 220 mbar negative pressure or as a pressure pump with up to 270 mbar overpressure, has a maximum motor power of 1,280 W and delivers 80 to 250 m³/h in four stages. At 15 kg, the stackable unit is designed for insulation layer drying in rooms of up to 70 m², and a night mode allows operation in occupied buildings.

How it works

In suction (vacuum) mode, the VP 6 extracts the moist air from the insulation layer under the screed through a hose system; in pressure mode it blows air into cavities that are difficult to access. On the suction side the turbine must always be operated with a suitable air filter system; the manufacturer recommends the AERCUBE HF 2 filter system. In pressure mode the process air reaches approx. 70 °C, so check that the floor construction can withstand this temperature.

The power stage is chosen according to the room size: stage 1 up to 15 m², stage 2 up to 30 m², stage 3 up to 50 m² and stage 4 up to 70 m². The control panel with display shows the current stage and a bar graph of the back pressure; the smaller the deflection, the more efficient the drying. The "Info" button shows the total operating hours, the temperature and differential pressure of the process air, and the version and serial number of the electronics; the display language can be changed. The night mode (available in stages 2 to 4) switches the turbine to quiet operation for a 10-hour countdown and then returns to the last selected stage. When switched on, the unit starts automatically in the last selected stage. If the turbine is overloaded for 15 seconds it switches off while the cooling air fan keeps running; it is restarted with the reset button.

The integrated MID-compliant energy meter is calibrated and cannot be reset, so the energy consumption of each job can be documented, for example for insurers. In the standard version, the consumption of devices connected to the unit's socket is not counted by the MID meter.

Key benefits

  • Vacuum and pressure operation — up to 220 mbar negative pressure and 270 mbar overpressure for insulation layer and cavity drying.
  • Four power stages — 80, 140, 190 and 250 m³/h, matched to room sizes from 15 m² to 70 m².
  • Documented energy consumption — calibrated, non-resettable MID-compliant energy meter plus operating hours counter.
  • Night mode and silencer — integrated sound absorber; 61 dB(A) at 1 m and 57 dB(A) at 3 m in normal operation, quieter in night mode.
  • Process monitoring — the back-pressure and differential-pressure display shows the drying progress and possible blockages in the hose system.
  • Light and stackable — 15 kg, robust stackable plastic housing with fixing points for a lashing strap system, plus a crane eye mounting option.
  • Protected for site use — IP44, key lock, overheating protection and integrated cable winding for the 4.5 m power cable.

Typical applications

  • Insulation layer drying after water damage: screed insulation layers in flats, houses and offices
  • Cavity drying: suspended ceilings, wall cavities and installation shafts
  • Underfloor heating leaks: drying under the screed without dismantling
  • Flat roof renovation: dehumidifying the thermal insulation by the vacuum method
  • New buildings: accelerating the drying of residual moisture in the screed
  • Water damage restoration in occupied and unoccupied buildings

Operating conditions and installation

  • Operating temperature: 0 °C to 38 °C (the operating manual specifies 0 °C to +35 °C)
  • Electrical supply: 230 V, 50 Hz, 1,280 W; the socket and supply must be sufficiently fused and a residual current circuit breaker (RCD) is required on site
  • Protection class: IP44
  • For conveying air and non-explosive gases and gas-air mixtures at atmospheric pressure only.
  • Always operate the suction side with a suitable air filter system (HF 2 recommended); in suction mode a water separator may also be required.
  • Use hoses with a diameter of 50 mm; smaller hoses lead to higher energy consumption and longer drying times.
  • Set up on a level, firm surface and secure against tipping; carry the unit only by the handles or recessed grips.

Scope of delivery

  • Noise box VP 6
  • One operating manual

Filter system, water separator, hoses and connectors shown in application photos are not included.

Frequently asked questions

Can the VP 6 be operated without a filter?
No. On the suction side the VP 6 must always be operated with a suitable air filter system; the manufacturer recommends the AERCUBE HF 2 filter system, which protects the turbine against dust, moisture and contamination from the insulation layer. The filter system is not included.

Which power stage should I choose?
The manual relates the stages to the room size: stage 1 up to 15 m², stage 2 up to 30 m², stage 3 up to 50 m² and stage 4 up to 70 m². The back-pressure bar graph on the display helps to check the setting: the smaller the deflection, the more efficient the drying.

Can the VP 6 run at night in occupied rooms?
Yes, the night mode switches the turbine to quiet operation for 10 hours and is available in stages 2 to 4. According to the operating manual, the sound level in night mode is 56 dB(A) at 1 m and 54 dB(A) at 3 m.

Does the MID meter also measure devices plugged into the VP 6?
No. In the standard version, the energy consumption of devices connected to the unit's socket is not counted by the calibrated MID meter. The meter records the consumption of the VP 6 itself.
