Welding-fume particles are 50–75× smaller than a human hair. They pass through paper masks and lungs alike. HEPA H14 captures them at source — and you meet TRGS 528 in the process.

The challenge

Industrial halls accumulate airborne contamination from welding, machining, grinding, plastics processing, woodworking and forklift exhaust. Welding fumes alone are a complex mix of fine particulate, metal oxides (iron, zinc, manganese, chromium, nickel) and gases. Short-term exposure causes metal fume fever, eye and throat irritation; long-term exposure is linked to lung cancer and neurological damage.

Regulation is strict: in Germany, TRGS 528 governs welding work and requires effective fume control. OSHA Permissible Exposure Limits run as low as 0.005 mg/m³ for chromium VI. A standard F7 HVAC filter cannot meet these levels.

What TROTEC TAC adds

TAC units deliver HEPA H14 filtration (99.995 % at 0.1 µm) at industrial airflows up to 5,700 m³/h per unit. Configurations include floor-standing high-volume units for hall-wide secondary filtration, and the TAC XT line with optional thermal regeneration — which cyclically heats the filter to neutralise captured biological load.
