The Dantherm Aerial WT 280 is a wall-mounted indoor air laundry dryer that also works as a room dehumidifier. Instead of a conventional tumble dryer, it removes moisture from the room air and dries laundry in closed rooms all year round, independent of the weather. It is designed for up to 20 kg of dry laundry, can dehumidify closed rooms of up to 900 m³ (360 m²), removes up to 79.2 l/24 h at 30 °C / 80 % RH and moves 920 m³/h of air. The manufacturer states a drying time of 05:13 h:min and an energy consumption of 0.3 kWh per kg of laundry.

How it works

The WT 280 works on the condensation principle: room air is drawn in through the air filter, moisture condenses on the evaporator, and the dried air is returned to the room via the outlet, whose pivotable baffle plates let you direct the drying air. The condensate is discharged via a 15 x 2 mm drain hose. If ice builds up on the evaporator, the demand-controlled automatic hot-gas defrosting keeps the unit running at low temperatures.

The operating panel with display offers three laundry programmes: "cupboard dry", "iron dry" and "predried". Pressing a programme button for 5 seconds starts a time-limited drying run of 30, 60 or 90 minutes, and a fast-drying button is also available. With the ES button the unit switches to room dehumidification mode, in which the desired room humidity is set in 5 % steps starting at 35 %. The display language can be set to German, French, Italian or English.

Key benefits

  • Laundry drying and room drying in one unit — dries up to 20 kg of laundry and keeps closed rooms of up to 900 m³ dry.
  • Space-saving wall mounting — mounted on the supplied wall rail, the unit stays off the floor.
  • Robust construction — galvanised sheet steel housing with an easy-care plastic cover.
  • Durable refrigeration technology — hermetic rolling piston compressor, condenser and evaporator made of copper tubes with aluminium fins, and a service-friendly refrigerant circuit with integrated service connector.
  • Energy-efficient EC radial fan — for a low power consumption of the air circulation.
  • Operation at low temperatures — demand-controlled hot-gas defrosting keeps the unit working when ice forms on the evaporator.
  • Easy filter care — the air filter is easy to remove and can be cleaned with water or manually.

Typical applications

  • Laundry and drying rooms in residential buildings
  • Cellars and washrooms
  • Garages and storage rooms
  • Water works
  • Drying rooms for emergency services

Operating conditions and installation

  • Operating temperature: 3 °C to 32 °C (manufacturer's operating manual: +5 °C to +32 °C)
  • Humidity: 40 % to 95 % RH (manufacturer's operating manual: 40 % to 99 % RH)
  • Recommended room size: up to 360 m² / 900 m³
  • Electrical supply: 230 V, 50 Hz, 4.5 m cable; the socket must be earthed and sufficiently fused, and an RCCB must be installed
  • Protection class: IP22
  • For closed rooms at atmospheric pressure only.
  • Wall mounting: fix the wall rail level and securely to a suitable wall with four bolts; leave approx. 30 cm clearance to the ceiling above the rail. Lift the unit into the rail with two people or suitable lifting gear, align it with a spirit level and secure it with the two lateral fixing screws.
  • Keep at least 0.5 m of free space in front of the front panel; do not cover the air filter or air outlet.
  • Condensate: connect a 15 x 2 mm drain hose to the drain pipe and lay it to a drain with a slope of at least 5 cm per metre of hose.

Scope of delivery

Frequently asked questions

How much laundry can the WT 280 dry?
The WT 280 is designed for up to 20 kg of dry laundry. The manufacturer states a drying time of 05:13 h:min and an energy consumption of 0.3 kWh per kg of laundry.

Can the WT 280 also be used purely as a room dehumidifier?
Yes. In room dehumidification mode (ES button) the desired room humidity is set in 5 % steps starting at 35 %. The unit is suitable for drying closed rooms with a volume of up to 900 m³.

How is the condensate drained?
The unit has a drain pipe for a 15 x 2 mm condensate drain hose, which must be laid to a drain with a slope of at least 5 cm per metre. The hose is not part of the scope of delivery; the Aerial drain hose (2002053) and the PK-Uni pump kit (2002326) are available as accessories.

What maintenance is required?
Check the unit after every drying process. Remove and clean the air filter regularly, with water or manually, and replace it if necessary; only original filters should be used. Also check the drain pipe and connected hose visually.
