TROTEC PC220 – Particle Counter incl. Calibration Certificate (6 channels, 0.3–10 µm)
Available to order: typical lead time 5–10 working days. We confirm the exact date after your order or enquiry.
The TROTEC PC220 is a handheld laser particle counter compliant with ISO 21501-4, supplied in this version including a calibration certificate, for cleanroom testing, filter efficiency tests, monitoring of workplace exposure and quality assurance. It counts airborne particles simultaneously in 6 size channels from 0.3 to 10 µm at a flow rate of 2.83 l/min (0.1 ft³/min), converts the fractions into PM2.5 and PM10 mass concentrations (0–2000 µg/m³), and additionally measures formaldehyde (HCHO, from 0.01 ppm), carbon monoxide (10–1000 ppm), air temperature, relative humidity, dew point and wet-bulb temperature. All values appear together on a 2.8-inch colour LCD; an integrated camera, a data logger for 5,000 data records and USB export support complete documentation.
How it works
An internal pump draws the sample air through the isokinetic probe into a measuring cell, where the particles are counted by scattered light measurement with an encapsulated laser diode. You can choose between the counting modes concentration, cumulative and differential. The readings of all six particle size channels are shown at the same time on the backlit colour display; an additional colour indicator with automatic acoustic alarm helps to recognise critical particle concentrations quickly.
Alongside the particle values, the integrated sensors record air temperature and relative humidity, from which dew point and wet-bulb temperature are calculated, plus formaldehyde and carbon monoxide concentrations. The integrated digital camera takes photos (JPEG) and videos (3GP) of the measuring environment. Measurements are stored in the internal memory (5,000 data records, expandable with an optional microSD card up to 16 GB) and transferred to a PC via USB with the included software. The device is operated with one hand and can be mounted on the included mini tripod via its ¼-inch thread for continuous measurements.
