The TROTEC TTR 160 is a compact, fully portable desiccant (adsorption) dehumidifier that keeps drying reliably where refrigerant machines fade — at low temperatures and low humidity. It removes up to 0.5 kg/h of moisture (≈ 12 litres per 24 h) from a footprint small enough to carry into an archive room or a plant enclosure.
How it works
Rather than cooling air to condense water, the TTR 160 draws process air through a slowly rotating rotor coated with hygroscopic silica gel. The desiccant adsorbs water vapour directly from the airstream and delivers dry air at the Ø 100 mm outlet. A separate heated regeneration sector continuously drives the captured moisture off the rotor and expels it as warm, humid exhaust through the Ø 63 mm regeneration port, keeping the rotor permanently reactivated. Because the principle does not depend on the dew point, it stays effective near freezing and at very low target humidity.
