The TROTEC VSC3008 is a professional cordless industrial videoscope for indirect visual inspection of concealed machine parts and cavities that are difficult or impossible to access. A 3,000 mm probe with a titanium-coated camera head that can be angled in all directions via joystick, a multi-LED light source with adjustable brightness and a 4.3-inch Wide VGA display (800 x 480 pixels) are combined in a light, robust compact unit. The 130° field of view and photo/video recording to SD card support accurate inspection and documentation. Power comes from a 5 V Li-Po rechargeable battery or the external power supply; the unit works at -10 °C to 50 °C.
How it works
The handgrip control unit weighs approx. 400 g according to TROTEC, so longer inspections remain comfortable. You steer the camera head continuously with the joystick; the operating manual gives approx. 120° articulation up, down, left and right, and a lock key fixes the head in its current position. The LED light source at the probe tip is adjustable in brightness, and the 3x digital zoom enlarges details. Photos (JPEG) and videos (AVI) are recorded with separate keys and saved to an SD card (max. 32 GB). Recordings can be transferred via mini-USB; an analogue audio/video output (3.5 mm jack) is also provided. TROTEC describes an optional WLAN version that synchronises the live image with a connected smartphone or tablet.

Frequently asked questions
How is the VSC3008 powered?
By a 5 V Li-Po rechargeable battery pack, which can be charged inside or outside the unit. Alternatively the videoscope can be operated with the power supply connected. The operating manual states an operating time of more than 4 hours.
Can the probe be immersed in liquids?
The probe with the camera head is rated IP67 (temporary immersion up to 30 minutes at 1 m depth) and is described as oil-resistant in the manual. The control part with display must not be used under water, and acids and alkalis are not suitable media.
Can I hold the camera head in one position?
Yes. According to the operating manual, a lock key fixes the camera head in its current position and releases it again.
How are recordings stored?
Photos are saved as JPEG and videos as AVI on an SD card of up to 32 GB; an 8 GB card is included. Files can be transferred via the mini-USB connection.
