The Dantherm Aerial AERCUBE VT 2 is a mobile water separator for screed drying in the vacuum method, developed for water damage restorers, building dryers and screed layers and part of the AERCUBE DRYING-EXPERTS-SYSTEM. It separates the water from the air-water mixture drawn out of the insulation layer and discharges it fully automatically with an integrated dirty-water pump (delivery rate 7 m³/h, delivery head up to 5 m). The 20-litre container, autonomous level control, a display with water-volume read-out and a calibrated MID-compliant energy meter make it suitable for unattended operation and documented, billable drying jobs. Power consumption: 260 W at 230 V, 50 Hz; weight only 18 kg.

How it works

In vacuum drying, an external compressor or sound box draws the moist air out of the insulation layer under the screed through the VT 2. The water separator collects the entrained water in its container. An autonomous level control constantly monitors the fill level of the 20-litre container: when it is full, the control switches off the compressor connected to the VT 2's device socket, activates the pump to discharge the water through the ¾" threaded connection with back-pressure valve, and restarts drying only when the container is largely empty. Drying can therefore continue overnight or at weekends without supervision.

The central control panel with display shows the operating parameters. With the "Info" key you can call up the pumped water volume and other relevant data for documentation towards customers, builders and insurers; the "P" key runs the pump manually. The calibrated MID energy meter records the consumption of the water separator itself (the consumption of the connected compressor is measured separately). The VT 2 works at atmospheric pressure.

Key benefits

  • Fully automatic water discharge — integrated dirty-water pump with 7 m³/h delivery rate and up to 5 m delivery head.
  • Unattended operation — autonomous level control switches compressor and pump automatically, so drying can continue overnight or at weekends.
  • Documentation for customers and insurers — display with "Info" key shows the pumped water volume and further data.
  • Calibrated MID energy meter — precise recording of the water separator's consumption for exact billing of your drying service.
  • Operation in standing water — the closed housing allows operation in water up to 30 cm deep, for example after pipe bursts or flooding.
  • Mobile and stackable — 18 kg with carrying handles, stackable design and fixing points for securing during transport.
  • Flexible connections — several intake connections on the rear for the recommended 50 mm hose diameter; unused connections can be closed.
  • Low maintenance — only regular cleaning of the coarse filter and complete draining of residual water before longer periods out of use.

Typical applications

  • Screed drying of new buildings in the vacuum method
  • Accelerated readiness of screed for floor covering
  • Restoration of water damage in the screed structure
  • Water damage restoration after pipe bursts or flooding

Operating conditions and installation

  • Operating temperature: 0 °C to 35 °C
  • Electrical supply: 230 V, 50 Hz; power consumption 0.26 kW
  • Operation at atmospheric pressure only; designed for vacuum operation as a water suction device (operating manual).
  • Required: an external compressor or sound box drawing the air through the VT 2, connected to the VT 2's device socket (the manual names the Aerial sound boxes VP2/VP3/VP6), and a waste water hose on the ¾" threaded connection.
  • Hose diameter: 50 mm recommended; smaller hoses result in higher energy consumption and longer drying times (operating manual).
  • Electrical connection: according to the operating manual, check mains voltage and fusing; a residual-current device (RCD) is required.
  • Not permitted (operating manual): rooms with potentially explosive or aggressive atmospheres, water with a pH value outside 4 to 9, liquids with a salt content above 1 %, high solvent concentrations or extreme dust loads.

Scope of delivery

According to the manufacturer's operating manual:

  • 1 x AERCUBE water separator VT 2
  • 2 x screw cap
  • 4 x connection pipe 38/50 mm or Ø 50 mm pipe
  • 6 x gasket
  • 1 x pipe marked blue (intake-side marking)
  • 1 x operating manual

The compressor and the waste water hose are not part of the scope of delivery. The system images also show other AERCUBE modules, which are not included.

Frequently asked questions

Does the VT 2 work on its own?
No. It separates the water from the air flow that an external compressor or sound box draws through it. The compressor is plugged into the VT 2's device socket so that the level control can switch it off while the pump empties the container.

Can the VT 2 run unattended overnight?
Yes. The autonomous level control monitors the 20-litre container, switches off the compressor when it is full, pumps the water out and restarts drying once the container is largely empty.

How can I document the extracted water volume?
Press the "Info" key on the control panel: the display shows the total volume delivered by the pump and the volume since the device was last switched on.

Is the compressor's energy consumption included in the MID meter reading?
No. The calibrated MID energy meter records only the consumption of the water separator; the consumption of the connected compressor is measured separately.

What maintenance is needed?
Regularly clean the coarse filter and the housing, and completely drain the residual water via the drain screw before longer periods out of use.
