The Dantherm DH 35 is a wall-mounted condensation dehumidifier for rooms with permanently high humidity, such as smaller indoor pool halls, wellness areas, sanitary zones and commercial spaces with increased moisture loads. It removes up to 29.3 l/24 h at 30 °C / 60 % RH (the operating manual also states 40.4 l/24 h at 30 °C / 80 % RH), circulates 500 m³/h of air and drains the condensate directly through a hose, so there is no water tank to empty. The aluminium housing and cataphoretically coated heat exchangers are designed for continuous operation in humid environments.
How it works
The fan draws humid room air through the air filter and the cold evaporator, where it is cooled below its dew point and the water vapour condenses. The dried air is rewarmed at the condenser and returned to the room approx. 5 °C above room temperature. The process heat released into the room is 2 kW. The condensate runs off continuously, or during the defrost phase, through the pre-assembled condensation drain hose.
On the control panel you switch the unit on with the power button and set the target humidity on the dial of the electronic hygrostat; the DH 35 then dehumidifies fully automatically. A flip switch selects the ventilation mode: "Fan" (the fan runs continuously) or "Cycle" (the fan only runs while the compressor is running). An operating status light signals normal operation and error messages. According to the manufacturer, the unit can reduce the relative humidity of a room to approx. 40 %.
Key benefits
- Built for humid rooms — aluminium housing and cataphoretically coated heat exchangers resist corrosion in moisture-laden environments.
- Space-saving wall mounting — the unit hangs on the supplied suspension rail and keeps the floor free.
- Direct condensate drain — the water is discharged automatically via the included 16 mm hose; no tank to empty.
- Automatic humidity control — the electronic hygrostat keeps the set humidity level without manual intervention.
- Selectable ventilation mode — continuous air circulation ("Fan") or fan operation only with the compressor ("Cycle").
- Quiet operation — sound pressure level of 49 dB(A) at 1 m distance.
- Expandable — an optional hot-water heating coil and a wired remote control with on/off switch can be added.
Typical applications
- Smaller indoor swimming pool halls and wellness areas (observe local regulations for indoor pools)
- Sanitary zones and commercial spaces with increased moisture loads
- Production plants, underground rooms, store rooms, archives and laboratories
- Clothes drying rooms
- Rooms and areas after water damage caused by burst pipes or flooding
- Keeping instruments, devices, files and moisture-sensitive goods dry
Operating conditions and installation
- Operating temperature: 5 °C to 40 °C
- Humidity: 40 % to 80 % RH (setting range); maximum permissible relative humidity according to the manual: 90 % RH
- Minimum room size: 4 m²
- Electrical supply: 220–240 V, 50 Hz; protect the unit on site with a residual current device (RCD), especially in wet areas
- Protection class: IPX2 (protected against dripping water)
- For indoor use only; do not install in the immediate vicinity of swimming pools, bathtubs or showers.
- Wall mounting: on a solid brick or concrete wall (avoid wood or plasterboard walls); two people are required for installation. Observe the minimum distances to walls and other objects given in the manual. The unit must hang in its final position for at least 30 minutes before it is switched on.
- Mains connection: the unit is connected inside the housing. According to the operating manual, a power cable with mains plug is not supplied; the short factory test cable must not be used. The mains connection cable must be connected by a qualified electrician before wall mounting.
- Refrigerant R454C: only install in rooms where potentially leaking refrigerant cannot accumulate; keep away from ignition sources.
- Condensate: route the 16 mm hose to a drain without kinks; for larger distances a longer hose of the same type (16 mm diameter) can be used.

Frequently asked questions
Does the DH 35 heat the room?
The standard DH 35 has no heating element. The dehumidification process releases heat (heat output 2 kW), so the room temperature may rise slightly. A hot-water heating coil can be installed as an option by a plumber; it is not part of the standard scope of delivery.
Is a power cable with plug included?
No. According to the operating manual, a mains connection cable is not supplied. A suitable cable must be selected according to the country-specific regulations and connected inside the unit by a qualified electrician before the unit is mounted on the wall.
How is the DH 35 mounted?
The suspension rail is screwed horizontally to a solid brick or concrete wall, and the unit is hung on the rail by two people. Afterwards the unit must hang in its final position for at least 30 minutes before it is switched on.
How often does the air filter need attention?
The manual specifies replacing the air filter every 6 months. In case of high dust or soot pollution, clean or wash the filter after 2 months. Never operate the unit without the air filter.
Can the DH 35 be used next to the pool basin?
No. The manual lists swimming pool halls as an intended use, but the unit must not be installed in the immediate vicinity of swimming pools, bathtubs or showers. Observe the local regulations for indoor pools.
