This package contains four identical TROTEC TTK 166 ECO commercial dehumidifiers. Each unit removes up to 52 l/24h (50 l/24h at 30 °C / 80 % r.h.) with an air flow of 300 m³/h and is designed for rooms up to 90 m² / 230 m³. The pack suits contractors who run several units at the same time, for example for new-build drying after screed and plaster work, water damage restoration or the permanent dehumidification of warehouses, archives and workshops. Every unit has a hygrostat-controlled automatic mode, a 7 l condensate tank with drain hose connection, the natural refrigerant R290 and a robust coated steel trolley in signal red. Pallet shipment: all four units are delivered together on one Euro pallet (1200 x 800 mm). Please make sure the pallet can be received and unloaded at the delivery address.

How it works

The TTK 166 ECO works on the condensation principle: the fan draws humid room air through the air filter, the evaporator and the condenser. On the cold evaporator the air is cooled below its dew point, the moisture condenses and drips into the condensate tank, which is fitted with a float. The dried air is slightly warmed at the condenser and blown back into the room. According to the manual, the unit can lower the relative humidity to approx. 30 %.

Operation is via a control panel with POWER and TIMER keys, arrow keys and an LED display. The display shows the current relative humidity, the target humidity while it is being set, the room temperature, the timer hours, compressor and fan operation, a full or incorrectly inserted tank and the automatic defrosting. You set the target humidity between 10 % and 95 % in 1 % steps; the integrated hygrostat switches the compressor off when the target is reached and back on when the humidity rises again. The manual gives 30 % to 80 % r.h. as the range for effective dehumidification. The timer switches the unit on or off automatically after 1 to 24 hours, and the memory function restarts the unit with the stored target humidity after short power interruptions. At low ambient temperatures the unit defrosts automatically by circulating air (max. 8 minutes, FROST indicator).

Key benefits

  • Hygrostat-controlled automatic mode — target humidity adjustable from 10 % to 95 % r.h. in 1 % steps; the unit regulates itself and prevents over-drying.
  • Continuous operation with drain hose — 13 mm hose connection and a 1 m drain hose included, so the condensate can be drained continuously during longer unattended drying jobs.
  • Memory function and timer — automatic restart with the stored setting after short power cuts, plus automatic switch-on or switch-off after 1 to 24 hours.
  • Robust trolley design for construction sites — coated steel housing in signal red, large non-marking solid rubber tyres, transport handle and a cable holder on the rear for transport and storage.
  • Tank monitoring — full-tank warning light and overflow protection with automatic shut-off when the 7 l tank is full or not inserted correctly.
  • Natural refrigerant R290 — propane with a GWP of 3 (200 g, CO2 equivalent 0.0006 t), combined with a rolling piston compressor.
  • Information at a glance — LED display of room humidity and room temperature, automatic fault diagnosis with error codes and an adjustable humidity correction value (-9 to +9).

Typical applications

  • New-build drying: speeding up building drying after screed and plaster work
  • Water damage restoration after mains water damage, flooding or inundation
  • Painting and drywall work: faster drying of filler, paint and plaster
  • Renovation work: moisture control in the renovation of old and listed buildings
  • Permanent dehumidification of warehouses, archives, workshops, basements, storage rooms and depots

Frequently asked questions

How much moisture does each TTK 166 ECO remove per day?
TROTEC states 50 l/24h at 30 °C and 80 % r.h., 20 l/24h at 20 °C and 60 % r.h. and a maximum of 52 l/24h. The actual output depends on room temperature and humidity.

Can the units run unattended for longer periods?
Yes. Each unit comes with a 1 m drain hose (13 mm) that drains the condensate continuously to a drain or a sufficiently large container; the hose can be used in any operating mode. When you connect the hose for the first time, the condensate tank has to be prepared as described in the manual: unscrew the closure on the tank and drill through the tank at this point.

Do the units need to be assembled?
Yes. Before first use, mount the stand foot, the two transport wheels with axle and the transport handle on each unit; all parts and screws are included. After mounting, let each unit stand upright for 12 to 24 hours before switching it on, so that the refrigerant can collect in the compressor.

What room size is each unit designed for?
TROTEC specifies rooms up to 90 m² or 230 m³. Because of the refrigerant R290, each unit may only be installed, operated and stored in a room with a floor area of more than 15 m².

What happens when the tank is full?
When the 7 l tank is full or not inserted correctly, the tank warning light comes on and the unit stops automatically; the fan runs on for approx. 3 minutes. Always switch the unit off and pull the mains plug before removing the tank.

Can I order a different quantity?
