The TROTEC IC200 is a fully radiometric thermal imaging camera for building diagnostics, maintenance and electrical thermography. Its uncooled microbolometer detector with 256 x 192 pixels (49,152 measuring points) records temperatures at 25 Hz in real time and shows them on a 3.5-inch touch display. With a thermal sensitivity of <0.1 °C, a geometric resolution of 3.75 mrad and a measuring range of -20 °C to 550 °C, the 500 g camera delivers precise thermograms; the IP54 housing is tested for 25G shock and 2G vibration.

How it works

The IC200 is operated with a combination of push buttons and the touch display: display mode, device parameters and measurement analysis settings are configured live via pictograms, and span and level of the temperature range can be adjusted directly with the cursor keys while you watch the live image. Besides the infrared and real image, the camera shows a blended view in any overlay intensity; DuoVision Plus fuses the infrared image with high-contrast contours from the integrated digital camera, which makes orientation and fault assignment easier. The stepless 1x to 16x digital zoom brings distant details closer.

For analysis, the IC200 offers up to four movable measuring points (3 manual, 1 automatic temperature tracking), area and profile analysis, hot/cold spot detection, an isotherm function and an acoustic alarm when freely set temperature limits are exceeded or not reached, useful for dew point detection on surfaces. Emissivity (0.01 to 1.0), reflected temperature, ambient temperature, distance and relative humidity can be entered for measurement correction. Images are saved as fully radiometric JPEGs, and infrared videos as non-radiometric MPEG-4 files directly on the storage medium. Connected by USB to a PC running the IR-Report NG software, the camera records and evaluates fully radiometric infrared videos in real time; radiometric videos can also be stored on the PC via WiFi.

Key benefits

  • Fully radiometric — precise temperature measurement across the whole image with 256 x 192 measuring points.
  • Real-time imaging at 25 Hz — no frames are skipped, so even moving objects are captured without blurring.
  • High thermal sensitivity — <0.1 °C at 30 °C, with 3.75 mrad geometric resolution and a short minimum focus distance of 0.5 m.
  • DuoVision Plus — fused display of infrared and real image as a contour-enhanced, detail-rich thermogram.
  • Dual control — push buttons plus 3.5-inch touch display; span and level adjustable live with the cursor keys.
  • Video functions — non-radiometric MPEG-4 IR videos on the camera, fully radiometric real-time video via USB and IR-Report NG.
  • Robust for site use — two-component, shock-protected housing with IP54, 25G shock and 2G vibration tested.
  • Connected — USB-C, WiFi data transfer and composite video output.

Typical applications

  • Preventive maintenance of mechanical and electrical installations
  • Safety inspection of live industrial installations
  • Functional testing of photovoltaic installations
  • Electrical thermography

Operating conditions and installation

Operation from -10 °C to 50 °C at 10 to 90 % relative humidity (non-condensing); storage from -40 °C to 70 °C. Protection class IP54 (complete protection against contact, protected against dust in harmful quantities and against splashing water from all directions). Power is supplied by a Li-ion battery (operating time up to 4 h) or via 5 V DC mains power. According to the operating manual, the camera must not be used in potentially explosive areas; the 1/4-inch-20 thread allows mounting on a tripod.
