TROTEC LD6000 – Frequency Analysis Set for Acoustic Leak Detection (0–4,000 Hz)
Available to order: typical lead time 5–10 working days. We confirm the exact date after your order or enquiry.
The TROTEC LD6000 frequency analysis set is a complete kit for electro-acoustic leak detection and acoustic line location. Whether you are tracing a line, narrowing down a leak area or pinpointing a leak, the LD6000 and its German-made precision microphones capture, process and display even very small leak noises. The instrument offers 120 dB amplification, up to 256 freely selectable filters, a sound measuring range of 0 to 4,000 Hz and a colour touch display, and runs for up to 14 h continuously on four LR14 batteries. With the optional hydrogen sensor, the same instrument also performs tracer gas leak detection.
How it works
A ground microphone or contact probe is connected to the LD6000 via the bayonet connection; the operator listens through the included sound-insulated headphones and reads the signal on the colour display (480 x 272 pixels, automatically illuminated). The instrument is controlled either via the touchscreen or via buttons and rotary controls. Many typical applications are pre-programmed for quick access, and all filters and parameters are freely configurable.
Operating modes are acoustic leak location (F&L, Smart and long-term measurement), line location by sound and tracer gas leak location. Measuring and device functions include minimum level, averaged level, pulse wave measurement, simultaneous F&L analysis, a logging function, automatic setting of filter frequencies and sensor sensitivity, a preference memory for manual filter settings and sound-level overload protection. With the Smart function (patent pending), leaks can be pinpointed faster. In tracer gas mode, the signal depends on concentration, both optically and acoustically.
Key benefits
- Acoustic and tracer gas leak detection with one instrument — add the optional LD6000 H2 hydrogen sensor for tracer gas work.
- Colour graphic touch display — high-resolution colour display with touchscreen, plus buttons and rotary controls.
- Smart function (patent pending) — for faster pinpointing of leaks.
- Pre-programmed applications — many typical use cases are ready for quick access, while all filters and parameters remain freely configurable.
- Line location mode — acoustic tracing of pipe routes in addition to leak detection.
- Hearing protection — meets the hearing protection requirements of VBG 121 in combination with the original headphones.
- Precision microphones — highly sensitive, robust microphones of German manufacture.
- Long operating time — up to 14 h in continuous operation, up to 40 h with normal use.
Typical applications
- Acoustic water leak detection on pressure pipes: narrowing down the leak area and pinpointing with the ground microphone.
- Acoustic line location (pipe tracing).
- Long-term acoustic measurement with the logging function (5, 15, 30 or 60 minutes).
- Non-destructive leak location in installations flushed with tracer gas (hydrogen), with the optional LD6000 H2 sensor.
Operating conditions and installation
- Operating temperature: -5 °C to +55 °C; storage temperature: -25 °C to +65 °C.
- Protection class: IP54 (protected against dust in harmful quantities and against splashing water from all directions).
- Power supply: 4 x LR14 (C) 1.5 V batteries; according to the manual, NiMH rechargeable batteries type HR14 1.2 V can also be used.
- According to the manual, never take measurements on live parts.
