The TROTEC TFV 600 is a high-pressure radial fan for large-volume supply and extract ventilation. It delivers up to 16,000 m³/h free-blowing and still 10,000 m³/h at 4,000 Pa, with a maximum pressure of 4,900 Pa, and runs on 400 V with a star-delta soft start as standard. The fan is designed for high air volumes against high back pressure, even over long runs of several connected air transport hoses: according to TROTEC it maintains a high air volume over hose distances of 50 metres with several bends. This is the standard version without explosion protection; for potentially explosive atmospheres TROTEC offers the separate TFV 600 Ex.
How it works
Unlike an axial fan, the TFV 600 moves the air perpendicular to the impeller axis on the principle of a centrifuge: the air is pressed outwards and compressed in a spiral (volute) housing. The result is a stable characteristic curve and continuously high pressure on long hose runs. The fan can be connected to intake ducts as well as to discharge ducts. It is supplied ready for connection; the mains connection box holds the control and monitoring components and the CEE 63 A plug connection. According to the operating manual, you switch on the main switch, briefly check the direction of rotation against the arrows on the housing, and then start the fan with the "control on" button: it starts in star mode as a soft start and switches to delta mode after a short time to deliver its full output for continuous operation. Indicator lamps show operation and faults, and the "control off" button stops the fan after a short run-down.

Frequently asked questions
Can the TFV 600 be used in potentially explosive areas?
No. The TFV 600 is the standard version; its operating manual states that it must not be operated in fire- or explosion-hazardous rooms. For Ex areas TROTEC offers the explosion-protected TFV 600 Ex.
What electrical supply does the TFV 600 need?
A 400 V, 50 Hz connection. The rated current is 34 A, the recommended fuse is 32 A, and the fan has a CEE 63 A connection plug. Power consumption is 18,500 W.
Is the transport frame shown in the photos included?
No. The standard version comes without a frame. The galvanised steel frame with transport castors, forklift slots and crane lifting corners is available as an optional accessory and allows two units to be stacked.
How often does the fan need maintenance?
The operating manual asks for all installed components to be checked at the latest after 6 months or every 4,000 operating hours and cleaned or replaced if necessary. Lubrication and maintenance intervals are given on the fan card supplied with the unit.
